GROWTH

 

I started Industrial Design with the intention of combining my attraction towards creative studies with psychology and 'science' to make interesting things. My first years I mostly worked in the competencies I was comfortable and experienced in; Creativity & Aesthetics and User&Society. Last two years I actively developed the other competencies and found motivation in combining the freedom of thinking I developed in C&A with skills of Technology & Realization to try and push boundaries. I have always been very curious and efficient in learning skills on my own, but working structurally and organizing a process has proven difficult when working alone during my FBP. In Muziekmagneet I managed to succesfully run a project and control my process. I grew in all competencies. Finding words to my vision has been a struggle, but this struggle is also an important part in finding a unique place for my work and talking to others, in and outside design, and finding a environment for my future development.

 

 

FUTURE

 

I currently have found a workspace as occupant of Baltan Laboraties. With a new professional environment and working between art, technology and science people will most likely lead to new opportunities. As for my time there, I want to explore a different direction of Muziekmagneet; go big and go deep. With the possibility of exhibiting in the gallery, I can test some of my ideas and build up my portfolio.
